Happy New Year Everyone! Last night we had a quiet but enjoyable New Year's Eve at home.
We all ate ToshiKoshi Soba (buckwheat noodles eaten before midnight on New Year's Eve here in Japan). At the stroke of midnight we toasted with champange (excluding Jazz and Dixie, although Dixie was curious about that bubbly stuff!) and shortly after we were all tucked up warmly in bed. Today we will all go and visit a nearby shrine to pray for another good year.

awww they look so cute! By the way, what's the age difference between Jazz and Dixie?
We went to an izakaya here and then karaoke. Most of our friends were either back home or our Japanese friends were with family. Wished Fei was with us but I get to see her in 5 weeks! Meaning she'll come to Japan in 6!

Jazz is 3years 7months and Dixie is 8months on Friday! Both of their birthdays are in May so that's easy for mummy to remember!
The last pic is a Japanese New Years decoration. Christmas day isn't a holiday here but New Year is a big thing. People hang those kind of wreaths on thier doors and put up pine branches on either side of their doorways/gates to bring in the New Year.
