Izu Mountain Dog Run

This weekend we hired a car and Shin drove us to Izu to his friend Ken's place. After lunch we took Jazz and Dixie to a very unique dog run built on the side of a hill, aptly named Izu Mountain Dog Run. There were many paths to follow and go up, up the mountain. Jazz and Dixie just took off chasing each other up and down and all around the dog run. We worked up a sweat trying to keep an eye on them. I guess it brought out the beagle instinct in both girls as their noses were to the ground following scents and chasing other dogs. Dixie took a few tumbles from the paths and down the hill as she was quite fearless! It was hard to catch them in the end but once we had them both back on the leads and in the car we headed down to the beach. We walked along the promanade and down onto the sand. It was Dixie's first experience on the sand and she did exactly what Jazz did the first time she was on the sand, she ate it!! What a fun filled day for all.

Jazz discovers new toy at Pet Love Cafe

Jazz, Dixie and I took Daddy to the Dog Cafe that we discovered a few weeks back. It is up and running now but wasn't very crowded which meant Jazz and Dixie had the run of the place. Jazz found a cute little squeaky ball that she wouldn't give up! She chased it through the tunnel unlike Dixie who would not even step one foot in it!

Sunday Morning Sleep In

As a special Sunday morning treat I let Jazz and Dixie have a little sleep on our bed. I was a bit wary after Dixie's last effort where she peed all over my bed!! No accidents this time and a few cute photos.

Puppy Only Afternoon at Dog Inc.

This afternoon we put both puppies in Jazz's pet shuttle and set out on the bus and train to Dog Inc for a 'puppy only' event. I couldn't leave Jazz at home by herself as she would be sad so I asked if I could bring her along as a good older sister who wouldn't be any trouble. We arrived and I let Dixie have a bit of time to herself while I walked Jazz along the river near by. After that Jazz joined her little sister for lots of puppy fun. There was another little beagle puppy which both Dixie and Jazz played with a lot. Jazz was very well behaved and didn't bother any of the puppies so I was relieved. Both girls had a fun afternoon.

Mt Fuji

Today we ventured back to "Dog Field" with Jazz and Dixie. Apart from the numerous accidents and traffic jams, the day couldn't be more perfect - 25 degrees, bright autumn sunshine and clear blue, blue skies. We were nicely surprised with great views of Mt Fuji minus the snow. It was cloudy on our two previous visits so we had no idea we were anywhere near Mt Fuji. We had another great doggy day.
