Day 2 of Takayama Trip

We stayed in a dog friendly Ryokan(Japanese Inn) on the Saturday night of our little trip. The rooms had pet friendly tatami mats and the dogs were allowed anywhere in the inn, including in the private dinning room!! It was a good thing that we were dining alone as Jazz and Dixie's table manners leave a lot to be desired! There was a very convenient hook which we could tie them to so that they were just out of reach on the low dinning table. The meal was arranged so wonderfully on the table it was a shame to mess up all that hard work! After dinner the girls fooled around with toys in the room before going to bed early. The next day we were up early for a walk in -5。C temp!! We all froze our little toes off! Its the coldest we have been this winter, maybe ever! After a breakfast similar to dinner with all the lovely little dishes we set off for Jazz and Dixie's favourite dog run, Dog Field. However being winter all the lush green grass was gone. The girls still ran around like crazy in the cold with views of a snow covered Mt Fuji in the background. We had a wonderful weekend away.

Jazz and Dixie, we loved seeing the pretty pictures from your holiday! It's so nice that you got to go everywhere with your people! Did you get to sample anything at dinner?

Hi Guys,
Amber - yes we are lucky that we are small enough to be bundled into the car for weekends away. Both Mum and Dad like discovering new places and we get to go along if its within Japan. If not we get to stay at the Pet Hotel at Dog Inc. Yes of course we got to sample some of the things at dinner. We sat on mum's side of the table as she is the easiest to con into giving us something. We have perfected the big-sad-eyed-feed-me-I'm-starving-face!!!! Works everytime!

Hi Fei,
The area is called Hida Takayama in Gifu. It was a very beautiful area and that folk village was really interesting as was the old town. Not so many people as it is winter. The hotel was called Bentenso http://www.saturn.dti.ne.jp/~bentenso/. Its a bit of an older style ryokan but dogs are very welcome anywhere in there. The dog run wasn't open though as the fence was all down due to the snow so I think it would be better to go maybe in summer. On the way home not far down the road from where we stayed we found another newer place complete with dog run that we may try next time. You can check out the details at http://takayama.izumigo.co.jp/

Jazz & Dixie: We're all really good at the sad eyes look, too. Stormy says that's a VERY important thing to know how to do. :)
