A Long Walk!

Jazz, Dixie and I were out this afternoon on one of our marathon 3 hour walks! We took a break at one of the girl's favourite dog cafes, Dog Garden Cafe. They had tofu cookies and I had warm chocolate tart which was devine, and of course a cup of coffee.

An Award and a Another Fun Day at School

Jazz and Dixie have been going to school on Thursdays for a long time now and so have some of their friends. They are affectionately known as the "Thursday Regulars"

Our friend Pippa has awarded us the "Thinking Blogger Award" and we'd like to say a big thank you to him and pass the award onto the following pups:
1. Xsara - for being an amazing obedience beagle!
2. Marvin and Diesel at Snoutbeagle for the good decision of joining DWB.
3. Lorenza - for being the most stylish dresser we know. A lot of thought has to go into that wardrobe.
4. River - for always being such a good dog and letting his mum take all those wonderfull photos of him even in the most tempting situations!

A Good Read

I have just finished reading a good book I could really relate to called " What the Dog Did - tales from a formerly reluctant dog owner". Despite the beautiful cover picture it is not all about beagles but rather a collection of stories about the author's pets (one of which is a beagle), and of dogs of family and friends. It is an easy read and quite funny - just perfect for those early morning commutes on the packed Tokyo Subway!

A Good Hot Cuppa on a Cold Winter's Day

It has been quite cold out on our walks this last week so today we broke our afternoon walk with a visit to Tokyo People Cafe, a dog friendly cafe not far from home. A hot capuccino and table by the heater were a welcome warm up. Jazz and Dixie also got to enjoy one of their old favourites here, warm seasame cookies! The pictures here aren't great as they are taken on my mobile.

Many Different Friends

This week was quite busy and thus Jazz and Dixie ended up at school twice this week, not that they minded! Through blogging, park friends and school we have met many different breeds of dog which is wonderful. I met someone in the park that said Komazawa Park is well known with dog lovers and that of all the parks in Tokyo, you can see the most variation in dog breeds in this park. I love getting the pictures from Dog Inc, not only to see my beautiful girls in action but also to see all the other dogs there too.

First Day Back at School for 2008! And an Award!

We were awarded the "Bloggers of the World Award" by our blogging friend here in Japan, Ume Tyan. Thank you Ume.

This week saw the end of my winter break as I had to go back to work on Monday. It has been a busy first week back at school. Jazz and Dixie also went back to school after a two week break. Jazz welcomed a new friend to Dog Inc. Jazz is still quite playful but she really has to like a dog before she wants to play with them. I was told she played non stop with her new friend, a Husky, Shepard cross. Her new friend was a rescue dog that had just been adopted by his new family two weeks ago. Dixie also tried to join in but was apparently doing a lot of bow wowing!

Award and Day Out with Fei

We have been awarded the cute award above by our friend down under, River. Thank you very much River. We have made many new friends through DWB and love reading about all their adventures. We would like to pass this award on to some of those friends - AO4, Lorenza, Harry and Cassidy, Eddie,Peaches,Bella & Lady and Fei.

Its been a while since we met up with Fei and Eve so today being a glorious winter day we took a walk over to Setagaya Park to meet them. First we took a walk around the park then went to a new dog cafe complete with dog menu. The girls enjoyed chicken breasts and Fei, dog hamburgers. After lunch we all walked back over to Komazawa Park to the dog run where all the girls could finally play off leash together. While there we also met our beagle friend, Biwako. We were out for about 5 hours and now Jazz and Dixie are out! Looks like I will have to wake them for dinner tonight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !

Christmas decorations don't last long here in Japan but make way for traditional New Years decorations pretty soon after Christmas day. Yesterday I took down the Christmas tree and decorations and put in their place, Kagami-mochi which is an offering to the gods made of pounded rice and topped with a mandarine and hung on the door a festive decoration made of straw. O-Shogatsu (New Years) is a family time here and a time to go to a temple or shrine to pray for good health and happiness for the year ahead. We didn't go out last night but stayed at home with the girls and ate Toshikoshi soba (long buckwheat noodles eaten on New Years Eve) that represent a long life. Jazz and Dixie had their own doggy version and sucked up all those yummy noodles. After that they crashed on the sofa and shortly after we all crashed.
Happy New Year to all our friends.
